The consultation was a quite negative experience. From the start, there was a clear lack of empathy and welcoming attitude, which already generated discomfort. When analyzing the exams presented, the doctor made disparaging comments about the laboratory and the health plan, in an unprofessional manner and without offering constructive alternatives. Furthermore, the communication was inadequate: instead of clearly explaining the clinical situation or guiding on possible next steps, he limited himself to discrediting the exams and ending the consultation with the justification that "there was nothing to be done" due to the time elapsed. There was a lack of care, active listening, and commitment to the patient. Regardless of the specialty or the limitations of the case, a healthcare professional is expected to have a respectful, ethical, and solution-oriented approach. Unfortunately, that was not the experience in this consultation.
