Dr Eduardo Buchele Rodrigues

Eduardo Buchele Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Saint Louis University and an Affiliate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Federal University of São Paulo. He graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in 1998. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Regional Hospital of São José from 1999 to 2000. He pursued training in Retinal diseases at the Brazilian Center for Eye Surgery at the Federal University of Goiás in 2001. At the end of 2001, he moved to Germany for a Retina fellowship and Doctoral studies at Philipps-Universitaet Marburg. He completed training in ocular tumors at Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University, from 2004 to 2005. He completed his doctoral and post-doctoral studies at the Federal University of São Paulo. Among the highlights of his curriculum vitae is the publication of 155 scientific articles in high-impact International Journals such as Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, and Retina. He is one of the Editors of the leading international book on the use of medications in the treatment of retinal diseases, Retinal Pharmacotherapy, published in 2010 by the medical publisher Elsevier. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Retina and Vitreous and Editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Retina and Vitreous. He has delivered more than 150 paper presentations at national and international conferences, and has received 19 Congress Awards for paper presentations, including the prestigious Paul Kayser Award from the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology. He is a member of medical societies in his field, including SBRV, PAAO, Club Jules Gonin, CBO, AAO, SCO, and Euretina. He is an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
