About me
I am an ophthalmologist graduated from the University of Pernambuco in 2012. I completed my medical residency in Ophthalmology at the Hospital de Olhos Santa Luzia in Pernambuco, obtaining my specialist certification from the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO). Following my residency, I furthered my training at the Banco de Olhos de Sorocaba (BOS), one of the largest transplant centers...
I am an ophthalmologist graduated from the University of Pernambuco in 2012. I completed my medical residency in Ophthalmology at the Hospital de Olhos Santa Luzia in Pernambuco, obtaining my specialist certification from the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO). Following my residency, I furthered my training at the Banco de Olhos de Sorocaba (BOS), one of the largest transplant centers in Latin America, where I completed a fellowship in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery. I also completed advanced training in Surgical Optics at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). I perform comprehensive evaluations for patients who wish to reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses and contact lenses, with individualized analysis for refractive surgery and a focus on providing greater freedom and visual quality in everyday life. My practice is centered on diseases of the cornea and ocular surface, including the treatment of dry eye disease, a subject that was the focus of my master's degree. In addition, I also provide follow-up care for a variety of ophthalmological conditions, cataract surgery, and comprehensive ocular health assessments. Throughout my career, I have also served as a volunteer preceptor in the Ocular Oncology and Keratoconus department at UNIFESP, and as a clinical and surgical supervisor in the cornea and cataract department at the Banco de Olhos de Sorocaba. I currently see patients at my private practice in Vila Mariana, São Paulo, offering attentive and individualized care, utilizing advanced diagnostic technology to evaluate not only refractive error, but overall ocular health, with a focus on safety, precision, and quality of life for each patient.

On the other hand, the experience with the clinic could be more transparent. We observed the request for a copy of the insurance card and the recommendation of several tests without clearer prior alignment regarding necessity, coverage, and costs involved. In our case, my wife and I were surprised by high total amounts (approximately R$ 1,000 and R$ 2,500), which could have been better managed with advance validation. As a suggestion, there is room for improvement in communication and financial transparency with patients. These points are fundamental for a trust-based experience.
