Dra Marcela Malhano

Hello! I am Dr. Marcela Malhano, a physician who graduated in 2010, with a specialization in Anesthesiology since 2016. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in different areas of medicine, such as emergency care, intensive care, outpatient clinics, and the surgical suite — experiences that helped shape the humane, attentive, and dedicated professional I am today. I have always believed that caring goes far beyond treating symptoms. Perhaps that is why I became, early on, the doctor sought out by friends, family, and those close to me in moments of doubt, fear, or need. And it was precisely this desire to be truly present in people's lives that transformed the way I see medicine. Despite my love for anesthesiology, I felt the need to build a closer, more welcoming, and continuous relationship with my patients. A medicine based not only on diagnoses, but also on listening, empathy, and trust. It was then that I decided to deepen my understanding of the human being as a whole and began my postgraduate studies in Psychiatry — a field I fell in love with and where I found even greater purpose in my profession. Today, in addition to my work in the surgical suite, I dedicate myself to the study of mental health and provide care in General Practice, pre-anesthetic consultations, and psychiatric follow-up, always seeking to offer individualized, humane, and responsible care. I believe that health is built through connection, compassion, and knowledge. And I continue daily in pursuit of professional and personal growth to help, in the best way possible, every person who crosses my path. Between science and care, there is listening.
